Aldo’s Caffè is the newest spot from Emanuele Cognetti, the owner of Aldo’s Italian Kitchen here in Alexandria. Food has always been in his blood—he grew up in Parma, Italy, where his family ran a deli and dairy farm. From helping slice prosciutto as a kid to working in kitchens across Europe and the U.S., Emanuele has spent his life surrounded by good food and the joy of sharing it.
With Aldo’s Caffè, he wanted to bring that same passion for fresh, authentic Italian flavor into a space that fits your everyday routine. Located right here in Mclean, VA, we make it easy to grab a great cup of coffee, a quick lunch, or something to take back to the office.
Think of us as your go-to spot when you need a pick-me-up in the morning, a break in the middle of the day, or a cozy place to meet with colleagues and friends. Everything we serve is made with care—simple, fresh, and always delicious.

At Aldo’s Caffè, food has always been about family. The recipes we serve are inspired by the same traditions that have been passed down through generations and shared with love around the table.
We’re especially proud to celebrate Donatella, the sister of our owner, who was recently featured on the beloved YouTube series Pasta Grannies. Filmed in Rivarolo Mantovano, she opened her kitchen to showcase her signature vegetable lasagna—a colorful blend of courgettes, onions, carrots, and fennel layered with care.
Just like Donatella, we believe good food comes from simple ingredients, time-honored recipes, and the joy of sharing them.
